Recommendations for a safe trip

It is highly recommended to the travellers to be careful with thieves who can act in the centre of the big cities (train stations, bar, restaurants). On the other hand, it is suitable to avoid walk by night in the neighbourhoods or suburbs that there frequent by “marginal” people (implied in violence, drugs).

Along the west coast (between Malmo and Goteborg), robberies have been reported, breaking in caravans parked on the areas of highway. These incidents take place in the night with theft of documents, of cash, checks and credit cards.

In the center of Stockholm scams is frequent. Among the most common one you find people tricking tourists off bills of 500 SEK or even 1000 SEK in games involving dices.

Transports

By land

The condition of the routes is excellent. In winter, the network is very frequented by snowploughs.
You have to drive on the right. The lights must be ignited daytime and by night. Snow tires are mandatory from November 1 to April 30.
Be careful in the parkings reserved for disabled persons and with the rule of the ten meters that it is necessary to respect in every crossroad.
Maximum authorized speed: 50 km/h in built-up areas, from 90 to 110 km/h on roads, 110 km/h on highway.
Fuel supply of all kinds is assured by numerous gas stations, both in the city and on the roads.
